What VDA records
VDA uses the physical pair and its product photography as the primary record. The archive keeps labelled size, style code, colourway, condition, box/insole notes and release-year evidence where it is reliable. We do not infer missing dates from colour alone, and we keep GS, women’s, men’s and Ultra variants clearly identified rather than flattening them into one generic listing.
How to compare Air Max 97 pairs
Start with the exact style code. Colour names can be shortened or vary between retailers, while the Nike style code is the strongest product-level identifier in the VDA sample. Then compare labelled size, GS/men’s/women’s sizing, condition, insoles, outsole wear, midsole ageing and whether the pair uses standard Air Max 97 construction or the lighter Ultra ’17 interpretation.
