Products & Authenticity
How our one-off vintage and pre-owned pieces are selected, described and documented.
What does Vintage District Antwerp sell?
Vintage District Antwerp is an independent online store based in Antwerp, Belgium, focused primarily on curated vintage and pre-owned denim. We also select outerwear, other clothing and a smaller range of pre-owned Nike and Jordan sneakers.
Are all your items second-hand?
Most items are vintage or pre-owned. If an item is unworn, new with tags or has another special status, that will be stated in the individual listing.
Are all your items vintage?
No. The collection includes both vintage and more recent pre-owned pieces. We only describe an item as belonging to a specific era or year when the available evidence supports it.
Is the item in the photos the exact item I will receive?
For our one-off inventory, the product page is intended to document the individual item offered for sale. Always review the full photo set, measurements, condition notes and product details before ordering.
Are your branded products authentic?
We carefully inspect branded items before listing and do not knowingly sell counterfeit products. Checks can include labels, branding, product codes, construction, materials and model-specific details. Unless a listing explicitly states otherwise, this should not be interpreted as third-party authentication or certification.
How do you check authenticity?
The checks depend on the brand and product. We compare the physical details available on the item with known brand and model characteristics, including labels, tags, codes, stitching, materials and construction. For some brands we also publish research-based authenticity guides.
Do you provide authenticity certificates?
Not as a standard service. If third-party authentication or a certificate is included with a particular item, that will be stated in the listing.
Why is there usually only one piece available?
Most VDA products are individually sourced one-off items rather than replenished retail stock. Unless a listing says otherwise, once the available piece sells, that exact item is normally gone.
Will a sold-out item be restocked?
Usually not. A similar model, wash, size or brand may appear again, but we cannot guarantee an identical replacement.
How often are new products added?
New one-off pieces are added regularly. The easiest way to see the latest additions is our
New Arrivals collection.
Can I ask for extra information or photos before buying?
Yes. If a detail is not clear from the listing, contact us before ordering and we will check what additional information can reasonably be provided.
Do product colours always look exactly the same in person?
We aim to represent colour accurately, but lighting, photography and screen settings can create small differences. Use the full photo set and written colour description together.

Condition & Product Details
What our condition information means and how to read a pre-owned listing.
How do you describe condition?
Every item is individually inspected and described as accurately as possible. The condition score is a quick VDA reference; the photos, written notes and disclosed flaws are the most important information.
Is the condition score an industry standard?
No. A numerical condition score is a VDA shorthand for the overall pre-owned condition of the individual item. It should always be read together with the listing photos and notes.
Can vintage and pre-owned items show signs of wear?
Yes. Fading, creasing, softened fabric, small marks or other signs of previous use can be normal in pre-owned fashion. Relevant defects or unusual wear that we identify are described or shown whenever possible.
What happens if an item has a visible flaw?
We aim to disclose visible flaws and signs of wear in the product description and/or photos. Please inspect the full listing before purchasing.
Can a pre-owned garment have been altered previously?
It is possible. When an alteration is known or clearly identifiable, we aim to mention it. Because pre-owned items have a previous history, not every past repair or alteration can always be established with certainty.
Are items washed before sale?
Cleaning history can vary by item and material. Unless a listing specifically states a treatment or cleaning process, do not assume a particular wash or dry-cleaning method has been used. Follow the care label before wearing or cleaning.
What if the item I receive has a significant issue that was not disclosed?
Contact us promptly with clear photos and your order details. If a significant problem was not described in the listing, we will review the case under our
Returns & Refunds Policy.

Size & Fit
The safest way to buy one-off denim and clothing online.
How do I choose the right size?
Do not rely only on the size label. Vintage and pre-owned sizing varies between brands, models and production periods. Compare the actual measurements in the listing with a similar garment you already own that fits you well.
Are the measurements taken from the actual garment?
Yes. Clothing measurements shown on our listings are taken manually from the individual item and are provided in centimetres.
Can manual measurements vary slightly?
Yes. Small differences can occur depending on how the garment is positioned, the fabric and construction. Treat manual measurements as a practical fit guide rather than laboratory measurements.
How do you measure the waist of jeans?
The waistband is measured flat across the garment. Doubling that flat measurement gives an approximate full circumference.
How do you measure inseam?
From the crotch seam to the bottom hem along the inside of the leg.
How do you measure front rise?
From the crotch seam to the top of the front waistband.
How do you measure total length?
From the top of the waistband to the bottom hem along the outside of the garment.
How do you measure leg opening?
Flat across the bottom opening of one trouser leg.
What do W and L mean on jeans?
W refers to waist sizing and L to leg or inseam length. Label sizes are useful references, but the actual centimetre measurements remain the safer comparison for pre-owned denim.
Why can the measured waist differ from the labelled W size?
Brand sizing, fit, production period, fabric stretch, washing, wear and previous alteration can all affect the current measurement. That is why VDA provides actual measurements whenever possible.
Are EU and XS/S/M/L equivalents exact?
No. Equivalent sizes are useful orientation only. Fit varies by brand and model, so the product-specific measurements should take priority.
I usually wear W30. Should I automatically buy W30?
No. Two jeans with the same labelled waist can fit differently. Compare the listed waist, rise, inseam and leg shape with a pair you already know fits.
What do Skinny, Slim, Straight, Tapered, Bootcut, Flared and Relaxed mean?
They describe the general silhouette. Skinny is very close to the leg; Slim is narrow but less tight; Straight stays relatively consistent through the leg; Tapered narrows towards the ankle; Bootcut widens slightly at the hem; Flared widens more clearly; Relaxed offers more room through the seat, thigh or leg.
What do Low Rise, Mid Rise and High Rise mean?
They describe where the waistband is designed to sit. Because definitions vary between brands, use the actual front-rise measurement as the most useful comparison.
Does stretch content affect fit?
Yes. Denim containing elastane or other stretch fibres may feel different from rigid 100% cotton denim even when the flat measurements are similar. Check the material information in the listing.
Can you guarantee that an item will fit me?
No. We can help you interpret the available measurements, but fit depends on body shape, preference, garment cut and fabric. Comparing with a garment you already own is the safest method.
Can I request an extra measurement?
Yes. Contact us before purchasing and, where possible, we will check the item for the measurement you need.
Where can I find the full measuring method?
See our
Size Guide for denim, clothing and sneaker sizing guidance.

Sneakers
Sizing, condition and what is included with our pre-owned Nike and Jordan pairs.
Are your sneakers new?
Unless a listing specifically says otherwise, sneakers are pre-owned. Their individual condition is shown and described on the product page.
How should I choose sneaker size?
Use the size information shown on the shoe label whenever available. We recommend starting with the EU size and comparing the EU, US, UK and CM values with a Nike or Jordan pair you already own.
Why do GS, women's and men's US sizes look different?
Nike and Jordan use different US sizing systems across men's, women's and GS/kids' footwear. Compare the complete size label rather than relying on a US number alone.
Do sneakers always include the original box?
No. Only assume a box is included when it is shown or explicitly stated in the listing.
Are original insoles, spare laces or accessories always included?
Only the contents shown or described in the individual listing should be assumed to be included.

Orders & Availability
What happens before and immediately after checkout.
Does adding an item to my cart reserve it?
No. Adding a one-off item to the cart does not guarantee that it is reserved. Availability is secured when checkout is successfully completed.
Can two customers try to buy the same one-off item?
Yes, until checkout is completed. Once the available unit is successfully sold, it becomes unavailable to other customers.
Will I receive an order confirmation?
Yes. After a successful order, Shopify sends an order confirmation to the email address used at checkout.
I did not receive my confirmation email. What should I do?
Check your spam or junk folder and confirm that the email address entered at checkout was correct. If you still cannot find it, contact us.
Can I change my order after placing it?
Contact us as quickly as possible. If processing has not progressed too far, we will check what can still be changed. Once an order has been dispatched, changes cannot be guaranteed.
I entered the wrong shipping address. What should I do?
Contact us immediately. We may be able to correct the address before dispatch, but once the parcel has been handed to the carrier an address change cannot be guaranteed.
Can I cancel an order?
Contact us as quickly as possible. If the order has already been processed or dispatched, the normal return procedure may apply. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Can you combine two separate orders into one parcel?
Contact us immediately after ordering. If both orders are still unprocessed, we can check whether combining them is operationally possible, but it cannot be guaranteed.
Can I reserve an item without paying?
We do not guarantee reservations unless this has been explicitly agreed with us. For one-off inventory, completing checkout is the safest way to secure an item.
06 / 11
Prices, Promotions & Payment
How prices, discounts and secure checkout work.
What currency are prices shown in?
Prices on the store are listed in EUR (€).
Why can two similar vintage pieces have different prices?
Each item is individually sourced and can differ in model, age, condition, rarity, size and other characteristics. Pricing is therefore set per item rather than by a fixed mass-retail price list.
Do you run promotions or bundle discounts?
Promotions may be offered from time to time. The promotion shown on the website and the final checkout calculation determine current eligibility and discount compatibility.
Do you offer free shipping?
Free-shipping offers may be available for eligible orders. Because thresholds and markets can change, the current
Shipping page and checkout are the authoritative source for eligibility.
Can I combine multiple discounts?
Only when the applicable Shopify discount rules allow the combination. Checkout will show the discounts that can be applied to your order.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Depending on location and device, checkout may offer Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Shop Pay, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Bancontact and UnionPay. The methods displayed at checkout are the options available for that transaction.
Is checkout secure?
Payments are processed through secure payment providers integrated with Shopify. Vintage District Antwerp does not store full payment card details.
Why don't I see a specific payment method?
Payment availability can vary by location, device and checkout configuration. Use the methods shown in checkout for your order.
What should I do if payment fails?
Check the payment details, available funds and any bank or wallet approval request. You can also try another payment method shown at checkout. If the problem continues, contact us.
Where can I see the current payment methods?

Shipping & Delivery
Dispatch, tracking, carriers, pickup points, customs and delivery issues.
Where do orders ship from?
All Vintage District Antwerp orders are dispatched from Belgium.
How quickly do you dispatch orders?
Orders are normally dispatched within 24–48 business hours.
What counts as a business day?
Business days generally exclude weekends and public holidays.
Will I receive tracking?
Yes. Orders are shipped with tracking so you can follow the delivery after dispatch.
Which carriers do you use?
Depending on destination and service availability, carriers can include DPD, Mondial Relay, DHL, UPS, FedEx, bpost and GLS.
Which countries do you ship to?
The shipping network can change over time. See the current
Shipping page and checkout for the destinations currently supported.
How much does shipping cost?
Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and the delivery option available.
Can I choose home delivery?
Where supported for your destination, home delivery can be offered at checkout.
Can I use pickup-point delivery?
Where supported by the carrier and destination, pickup-point delivery can be offered at checkout.
How long will delivery take?
Delivery time depends on destination, carrier and service. The 24–48 business hours stated above refer to our normal dispatch time, not a guaranteed final delivery date.
Why has my tracking not updated yet?
Carrier tracking can take time to register after handover. If the status remains unchanged for an unusually long period, contact us and we can review the available shipment information.
What if my parcel is delayed?
Check the carrier tracking first. Transport networks can experience delays due to peak periods, weather, customs or local delivery issues. Contact us if the delay appears unusual.
What if my parcel appears lost?
Contact us if tracking indicates a potential loss or the parcel has not arrived after an unusual delay. We will review the available tracking information and, where appropriate, follow up with the carrier.
What if the parcel arrives damaged?
Take clear photos of the external packaging and the item as soon as possible, keep the packaging, and contact us with your order details.
What happens if I miss delivery or do not collect a pickup-point parcel?
Customers are responsible for receiving or collecting parcels within the carrier's applicable period. A refused or uncollected parcel is not automatically treated as a valid return, and carrier or return-related costs may apply where permitted by law.
Will I pay customs or import charges inside the EU?
Orders moving within the European Union generally do not incur customs import duties in the same way as goods imported from outside the EU.
What about orders outside the European Union?
International orders outside the EU may be subject to import duties, taxes, customs fees, brokerage fees or local charges imposed by the destination country. These costs are the responsibility of the customer/importer unless explicitly stated otherwise.
What if I refuse an international parcel because of customs charges?
Refusal, failure to pay import charges or failure to collect the parcel is not treated as a normal return. Related return shipping, customs, brokerage, storage or handling costs may be deducted or charged where permitted by applicable law.
08 / 11
Returns & Refunds
How the 14-day return process works for one-off pieces.
Can I return an item?
Yes. For consumer returns and withdrawals where applicable, contact us within 14 days of delivery to notify us that you wish to return the item. After notifying us within that period, you normally have a further 14 days to send the goods back, where applicable under consumer law and subject to our return instructions.
How do I start a return?
Contact Vintage District Antwerp within the applicable notification period with your order information and the item you want to return. We will provide the return instructions. Where applicable under consumer law, after notifying us you normally have a further 14 days to send the goods back.
Who pays return shipping?
For a change of mind, sizing choice or another reason not caused by an error on our side, return shipping is the customer's responsibility. If the return is due to a confirmed error on our side, we cover the applicable return shipping cost.
Can I return something because it does not fit?
Yes, if the return meets the policy conditions and is requested within the applicable period. Return shipping for a sizing decision is normally the customer's responsibility.
What condition must a returned item be in?
The item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received and must not be worn beyond reasonable inspection, washed, altered or damaged.
Can the refund be reduced if the item is returned in a worse condition?
Where permitted by applicable law, a reasonable deduction may be made if the item's value has been reduced by handling beyond what was necessary to inspect it.
When is a refund processed?
After the returned item has been received and inspected, the applicable refund is issued. Your bank or payment provider may require additional processing time after the refund has been sent.
How is the refund paid?
Refunds are processed to the original payment method where possible.
Are original shipping costs refunded?
Original shipping costs are handled in accordance with the Returns & Refunds Policy and applicable consumer law. Return shipping is not refunded unless the return results from an error on our side or another case where we are legally responsible.
Can I exchange an item for another size?
Because most VDA pieces are unique, an identical item in another size often does not exist. Contact us and we can explain the options available.
What if I receive the wrong item?
Contact us promptly with your order information. We will review the case and arrange the appropriate solution.
What if an undisclosed significant defect is found after delivery?
Contact us with clear photos and the order details. We will review the issue against the listing and the Returns & Refunds Policy.
Where can I read the full return terms?
See our
Returns & Refunds page. It remains the authoritative policy if a short FAQ answer and the full policy ever differ.

Care for Vintage & Pre-Owned
Simple principles to help preserve denim and older garments.
How should I wash vintage denim?
Always check the individual care label first. In general, gentler washing, lower temperatures and avoiding unnecessary washing can help reduce wear and preserve colour, but the garment's own care instructions take priority.
Can pre-owned denim shrink?
Some fabrics, especially cotton, can shrink depending on previous treatment and future washing or drying conditions. Follow the care label and avoid assuming a pre-owned garment will react exactly like a new one.
Should I use a tumble dryer?
Check the care label. Heat can affect some fabrics, elastane, prints, finishes and older garments, so air drying is often the gentler option when suitable.
Should I wash a pre-owned item before wearing it?
That is a personal preference. If you do, follow the care label and consider the fabric, age and construction before choosing a washing method.

Denim Archive & Guides
How VDA's research content connects the shop, sold pieces and denim references.
What is the Vintage Denim Archive?
The
Vintage Denim Archive is VDA's growing reference library built from real pre-owned denim that has passed through the store. It documents original product photography, labels, flat measurements, fit notes, materials and model details.
Are all Archive pieces still for sale?
No. The Archive can include both currently available and previously sold examples.
Why keep sold products documented?
A sold pair can still be useful as a reference for model identification, measurements, fit variations, materials and labels. The Archive preserves that information instead of letting it disappear when the item sells.
What is the difference between the Shop and the Archive?
The Shop shows what is available to buy now. The Archive is a long-term reference library and can also include sold or historical VDA examples.
Can the Archive help me identify my own jeans?
It can be a useful reference, but models can vary by production period, wash, market and fabric. Compare several details rather than relying on one feature alone.
Do you publish authenticity guides?
Yes. Our
Journal includes research-based guides for selected brands and topics. These guides are educational resources and should be used together with the physical details of the specific item you are assessing.
Where should I start if I am researching denim?
